Tattoo price- How much does a tattoo cost?

How much does a tattoo cost? This is one of the most common asked questions about tattoos and everybody wants to know the answer of that before getting a tattoo. In this article I am going to explain about factors that affect the price of a tattoo.

The price of a tattoo may vary between tattoo artists. Some artists charge an hourly rate that varies from $50-$200 per hour but most of them charge a base price. An expert artist charges more than the beginner one. Since you are going to have a permanent tattoo and you will live with that for the rest of your life and tattoos can be difficult and expensive to remove, choose an artist based on quality rather than focusing on the cost. Ask your friends about expert tattoo artists and also ask from the artist to see the portfolios of his works.

The size and complexity of the design can affect the price too. Large size designs are more expensive because they will take more time to apply. For small designs you should expect to pay $50-$200, for medium designs it will cost you $200-$600 and for large designs you should expect to pay $600-$2000. So if you have a really big design for example a full back tattoo design in your mind, you should expect to pay thousands of dollars.

The placement of the tattoo is very important too. Some places of body are harder to tattoo, for example the abdomen and curvy lower back are harder to tattoo than shoulder and arm. They also require more time and patience by the artist. Some artists charge 10-25 percent extra for work on these parts.

The number of colors that used in a tattoo affects the price of that. The more colors in the tattoo, the more it will cost you.

There are two types of tattoo designs with different prices: flash and custom. When you go to a tattoo parlor you will see lots of tattoo designs on the wall. These designs are called tattoo flash. These are samples of designs but if you are looking for a unique picture that nobody else has it you need a custom tattoo. In custom tattoo the artist should create and draw the image that you want and it will cost you more. You can help the artist by collecting the pictures and designs that appeal to you and the artist will share the pictures together and create a new image. Make sure you like the final design.

Free guide and advice for tattoo designs ideas

Tattoos have become more popular in recent years and everyone has a tattoo or is planning to get one. Before the decision to get a tattoo, carefully consider what you are doing. You are going to wear it for the rest of your life, it is permanent then think long and hard about it. Ask these questions from yourself before accepting the needle:
Why am I doing that?
Can I live with this for the rest of my life?
Will it look cool in ten, twenty or thirty years from now?

Never get a tattoo of anyone's name unless it is your close family. Some people tattoo their lover’s name on their body. If you want to prove your love to someone think about buying gifts and other ways, not permanently tattooing your lover’s name into your skin. Bear in mind that relationships are not always forever. Partner and love changes but tattoos don’t. will your new girlfriend like to see the name of your ex girlfriend on your body?

Having certain tattoos on certain parts of your body can block some opportunities. Don’t get tattoos on your hand, face, neck and everywhere that can’t be cover by a suit. The location of the tattoo is very important. It is really hard to get a job if your tattoo can’t be covered during work. Get tattoos on a location that won’t stretch or shrink too much if you gain or lose weight. It can’t be moved, so make sure it is in a place you will want to be in 10 years from now.

There is nothing worse than seeing somebody has the same as your tattoo design on his/her body. Create your own tattoo design, so you will have your unique tattoo picture.

Never get a tattoo the same day that you begin to consider. Wait at least for a month and think more just to be sure that you are not being rush and never get a tattoo while you are drunk.

Sunlight makes tattoos fade terribly, so if you want to keep your tattoo looking good for years, remember sun screen!

Getting tattoos have pain, so avoid the most sensible places of your body for your tattoos. Although putting it on your foot is really nice but it is extremely painful because there is almost no muscle on your feet.

The tattoo can’t be completely removed. It can only be lightened by using laser technique and you have to pay a lot for that. Then think before ink. You will thank yourself later.
